Expat Tax 101 Webinar from March 22, 2020 (2 hours)
Speakers: Nathalie Goldstein, Liz Zitzow
This webinar covers the basics of US tax filing requirements for Americans living abroad. The aim of this event is to educate you on your basic tax filing obligations and commonly asked tax questions like who has to file, what are the income filing thresholds, when to file, and how to get caught up if you haven't filed for a while.

The rest of the videos are from Tax Day on October 5, 2019:

Expat Tax 101 (1 hour)
Speakers: Nathalie Goldstein, Jeffrey Gould, Susan Shriver, Liz Zitzow, David Treitel. Chair: Rebecca Lammers
This session will aim to provide you with a basic foundation of knowledge for the rest of the panel discussions throughout the day. Topics address will include basics about filing US taxes as an American living in the UK, the streamlined filing procedure (the program used to catch up on your taxes if you haven’t filed in years), capital gains tax on the sale of your home, US/UK pensions, and self-employment as an American abroad.

Financial Planning 101 (45 minutes)
Speakers: Brian Dunhill, Gillian Everall, Nathan Prior, Andrew Vaughan-Payne. Chair: David Wenk
How do you plan for the future under both the US and UK tax systems? This session is aimed at people starting out with financial planning. The topics we aim to address will include how to manage finances and tax with a non-US spouse, how to tax-efficiently save and invest, buying and selling a home, how to save for children, and address how to manage US student loans.

Financial Planning 201 (45 minutes)
Speakers: Liz Zitzow, Kristopher Heck, Chris McLemore, George King. Chair: David Wenk
This session will focus on wills, inheritance, and maximizing savings in retirement. Do you need to get a will written up in the US and UK or can you get one will for both countries? What happens when you come into inheritance or how to best manage the tax for family who will inherit your assets in the future? Should you set up a trust? These and other related advanced topics will be addressed.

Retirement Planning (45 minutes)
Speakers: David Treitel & David Costello. Chair: Rebecca Lammers
Are you starting to think about saving for retirement or are you nearing retirement and looking for the best ways to maximize your retirement savings? We will discuss some of the most commonly asked questions about US/UK retirement including retiring with savings in both the US and the UK, deciding to relocate back to the US with UK funds or retiring in the UK with US funds. We will dig into those cross-border tax questions to help clarify how best for you to manage your money in retirement.

Self-Employment (45 minutes)
Speakers: Malcolm Offord & David Costello. Chair: Rebecca Lammers
Do you run your own business or have you thought about starting one? Did you not pursue it because you were concerned the tax compliance would be too complicated? Many Americans abroad are business owners and have found many different solutions for running their businesses in a tax-efficient manner. Hear from the experts on the different ways to set up your business as an American in the UK and find out which way might work best for you and your business.

Social Security (30 minutes)
Jack Leuchtman, Social Security Administration
This is the session all about social security! Jack Leuchtman from the Social Security Administration, based in the American Embassy in London, will speak about Social Security eligibility for people living abroad. He will also discuss Social Security Number policy, Medicare, and other federal benefits.
